Our Company History 

Freeman Monument Company was established in 1967 by Bill Vergouven, who was trained as a granite cutter in his native Germany. He came to the United States in 1939, at the age of 19. The company is now owned by his son, Doug Vergouven, who has been involved with all facets of monument design since his teenage years. He still owns it to this day, where he is currently working with and training his youngest daughter Haley Wylde, in hopes to continue to make it a 3rd generation company.
